I’d like to thank you for your efforts in keeping the ALSA website, especially the photo archives.
I’m a post-doc researcher at the Nelson Mandela University, working on the health of seabirds at Marion Island and SANAE. Over the last few years (and even before then, when I was already working on Subantarctic and Antarctic seabirds), I’ve found the website to be extremely useful, especially the photo archives. I’ve used them extensively in powerpoint presentations and lectures to students, for example to show them the history and day-to-day life at these extreme environments. The photos in the archive are very useful to discuss what their future life as field researchers would be like, and what are the challenges and opportunities involved in this field.
Therefore I wanted to thank all involved for the effort in maintaining the website and hope that this effort is continued for many decades to come!
