Third Polar Data Forum

ALSA’s Principal Investigator/Archivist is currently in Helsinki, attending the Third Polar Data Forum.

The theme of the conference is: Let polar data holders get together and make more use of data.

Ria is presenting a talk today in the Data Management for Polar Social Science and Humanities Session on the importance of data management within the humanities and social sciences (in a South African context) and the development of an online repository, focusing on the Antarctic Legacy of South Africa online repository (Archive). She will also talk about the importance of social science and humanities data management within SCAR (Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research) and SC-HASS (The SCAR Standing Committee on the Humanities and Social Sciences).

During the first two days of the conference remote participation options for several sessions will be provided (click here for more information and to view the program). The remainder of the conference is focused on workshops
