Using Webmail or Outlook, send an e-mail to sympa@sympa.sun.ac.za with the following text in the [Subject] field or the body of your e-mail:
SUBSCRIBE [name of mailing list] your_email@sun.ac.za
(Students: Where the text says “your_email@sun.ac.za” insert your student number into the part that says “your_email”. If your student number is 12345678 then put 12345678@sun.ac.za in the place of your_email@sun.ac.za
(Personnel: Where the text says “your_email@sun.ac.za” insert your user name into the part that says “your_email”. If your user name is “joesoap” then put joesoap@sun.ac.za in the place of your_email@sun.ac.za)
Send off the mail and you will be subscribed from the mailing list. There might be a delay if the moderator has to approve your subscription request.
For example if my e-mail address was 12345678@sun.ac.za and I wanted to subscribe to the TYGNOOD mailing list, my subject line in my subscribing mail would look like this:
SUBSCRIBE tygnood 12345678@sun.ac.za
