Guidelines for the use of the GERGA Mailing Lists…

• No messages containing images, advertising posters will be allowed.
• No attachments and executable files that could spread viruses are allowed. ONLY e-mail text messages are allowed.
• Messages with no Subject lines, containing special text formatting, or with Subject lines that do not clearly state what the contents of the message are will be rejected immediately.
• Posting links to commercial services not directly related to the University or its services is prohibited.
• The use of this list to send advertisements for private businesses outside the university is not permitted.
• Chain letters, known “spam” (unsolicited commercial e-mail advertisements) is prohibited.
• Please do not use obscene or inappropriatee language on this list.
• Posting links to pornographic images or inappropriate content to this list is expressly prohibited.
• This list is run by GERGA and is an official mailing list for all Tygerberg students and is solely for the use as a communications medium.
• This is not a general chat list, so please try to keep the topics centered around announcements, advertisements, requests and general news items.
• No surveys, questionnaires, or opinion polls may be sent out using this mailing list.
• For any unusual requests such as attaching PDFs or Word Forms for smaller groups (less than 150 members), the moderator or owner of that list must be contacted and approval obtained before the mail is sent out.
• Posting to the mailing lists using “free” webmail providers like Yahoo!Mail, HotMail GMail etc. is not permitted in large mailing lists and  will be rejected.
