The projects address the following goals:
- Improve knowledge of the social, economic and political aspects of food & nutritional insecurity in Southern Africa.
- Promote the utilization of safe and nutritious food.
- Empower small scale farmers through appropriate new technologies.
- Reduce food losses in the farm to fork chain.
- Improve crop production and water use efficiency.
- Understand environmental and climatic changes and their implications for agricultural policy and practice.
