IT-personeel het 9 Desember hul Gemeenskapsinteraksie met `n jaareindfunksie kombineer toe hulle Melton Rose Laerskool in Eersterivier gaan help opknap het.
Stukkende vensters is vervang en twee Graad R klaskamers is oorgeverf en meer kindervriendelike kleure. Daar word beplan om die 5 Graad 1 klasse ook betyds oor te verf voor die begin van die nuwe skooljaar in 2015.
Terselfdertyd is geskenkpakkies uitgedeel aan alle Graad R, 1 en 2 kinders as deel van die Sharing and Caring projek.
Melton Rose Primary School is located in Eersterivier in a community riddled with poverty and gang violence. Amidst this violence 950 learners come to school every day to make a better future for themselves.
Information Technology was initially contacted by Melton Rose to help out with their IT room, but after an assessment we came to realise much more was needed to better the situation at this school.
We recently finished off a successful project with Stellenbosch Youth Outreach and, with the help of Niven Adonis, initiated another one with Facilities Management where they supplied the centre with furniture for the children. (photos to follow soon!)
However, on 23 July we launched our latest project at Melton Rose Primary School in Eersterivier. As part of a Mandela Day initiative IT staff went to the school to distribute sandwiches to learners. Continue reading →
