Welcome to the FAMily Centre for Research with Ubuntu (FAMCRU)
FAMCRU is a clinical research centre within Stellenbosh University in Cape Town, South Africa. The primary site located at Tygerberg Academic Hospital with satellite sites at Kraaifontien CHC, Michael Mapongwana CHC in Khayelitsha and Worcester CHC.
The centre conducts research and clinical trials in adult and pediatric infectious diseases with a focus on HIV, TB, HIV/TB co-infection and common childhood infectious diseases.
Established in 2002, FAMCRU has grown and expanded from a primarily pediatric research focus to include adolescents and adults with a broadening of the infectious diseases studied.
