The Faculty of Law (and the Anton Mostert Chair of Intellectual Property Law) is set to host its first Short Course on Intellectual Property Law, Competition Law, Contract, and Unjustified Enrichment Law from 7 to 9 September in Windhoek, Namibia.
This certificate programme is aimed at both persons with a legal qualification and those without any legal background, and this year a diverse group of attendees is expected to include practising attorneys, university alumni, and representatives from various corporate entities. The Short Course is specifically designed to provide attendees with an introduction to intellectual property law, competition law, contract, and unjustified enrichment law and its practical application. Attendees will gain a basic understanding of the various aspects of commercial law and its relevance to commercial endeavours, and beyond. They should particularly enjoy the opportunity to ask questions about specific aspects of the law related to their own working environments.
The presenters are Professor Sadulla Karjiker (Anton Mostert Chair of Intellectual Property Law), Professor Jacques du Plessis, Professor Phillip Sutherland, Ms Gretchen Jansen, and practitioners from the intellectual property law firm, Von Seidels. The Short Course has received a level of interest that has exceeded expectations and we hope that it will be a success.
