On 7 August 2014 the South African Research Chair in Property Law (SARCPL) and the Faculty of Law (University of Stellenbosch) will host two separate events focussing on Housing Law.
The Day Seminar titled “Housing Jurisprudence – Gaps and possibilities” will address issues in housing jurisprudence with the aim of identifying possible shortfalls and considering creative possibilities. Speakers include Prof Jackie Dugard (Wits), Dr Gustav Muller (Rhodes) Dr Sue-Mari Viljoen (Unisa) and Dr Zsa-Zsa Boggenpoel (Stellenbosch). The seminar will take place from 10am to 4pm in the CL Marais Building, Crozier Street, Stellenbosch.
On the evening of 7 August the second annual SARCPL public lecture will be presented this year by Prof Susan Bright (Oxford University). The lecture is titled “To evict or not to evict: How difficult decisions are made”. It will take place at 18:30 in the JC De Wet Hall, Old Main Building, c/o Victoria and Ryneveld Street, Stellenbosch and will be followed by a cocktail reception.
