The Annual General Meeting of the Convocation of Stellenbosch University, usually held at the beginning of November, will be held in the DF Malan Memorial Centre on 10 December.

The AGM has been moved to coincide with the first ever ‘BoschFest to be held in Stellenbosch on 9 and 10 December.

On conclusion of the Convocation meeting those present are invited to join the management of the Convocation for a reception, hosted by Prof Russel Botman, Rector and Vice-Chancellor, in a marquee tent opposite the DF Malan Memorial Centre.

Prof Magda Fourie, Vice-Rector: Teaching, will be the guest speaker at the meeting and the title of her address is: Challenges in the control and management of South African universities in current times.

Prof Botman, as well as the President of the Convocation, Prof Pieter Kapp, will do short presentations at the event. The agenda of the meeting is available on the webpage of the Convocation at www.matiesalumni.net and will also be published in the press.

The Convocation consists of all graduates and present academic personnel of the University. The Convocation is a statutory body that ensures that ex-students have a say in matters pertaining to the University. The Convocation is represented in Council and in the Institutional Forum of the University.

Preceding the Convocation meeting is the closing function of the ’BoschFest. This function, in the form of a cocktail function, is also held in the marquee tent. This event is free of charge, but it is necessary indicate your attendance (please see contact details on the ’BoschFest webpage – www.matiesalumni.net/boschfees – the site will be made live by Thursday 29 October).
