School of Public Management and Planning presents Winelands Conference on Public and Development Management

The 2010 Winelands Conference on Public and Development Management organised by the School of Public Management and Planning will be held from 15 to 19 March 2010. The theme of the main conference, held  from 17 – 19 March, is “Public Leadership for Added Citizen Value”.

There is an added innovation to the Conference this year: a series of workshops and showcases in the two days prior to the main conference. These will form part of the Dr. Samuel Sarphati Innovative Public Leadership Knowledge Event.  The workshops and showcases will be open to the public at no cost and will be held and presented in the Vrouevereningsaal in the Student Centre. The workshops and showcases will be of interest as they cover a wide variety of disciplines such as town planning, legal issues, youth entrepreneurship, education and healthcare.

One of the presenters is Robert Valkhoff, the Policy Advisor for the City of Amsterdam, who will be presenting a workshop entitled “How Amsterdam fights organised crime with designer dresses.”

The workshops and showcased projects on 15 and 16 March 2010 are open to all personnel and members of the public. Prospective delegates are welcome to register for the conference at www.winelandsconference2010.co.za
