SU Library and Information Service brings you: EBSCOhost iPhone app

The new EBSCOhost iPhone app is free, offers the convenience and rich functionality that enables users to:

  •  Choose which databases to search
  • Limit results to full text or peer reviewed
  •  Sort by relevance or date
  •  Retrieve full text results in HTML and/or PDF formats
  •  Save results for offline access at a later date
  •  E-mail results to self or others

To get started, simply click on the EBSCOhost iPhone/iPod Touch Application link at the bottom of the EBSCOhost web page at http://library.sun.ac.za/connect/ebscohost and follow the instructions.

    Baie interessant en ‘n skuif in die regte rigting, maar hoekom slegs iOS toestelle? Uit die hoeveelheid mense wat wel moderne “smartphones” het, hoeveel het Apple toestelle? Nie baie nie. Kyk maar op kampus, daar is veel meer Blackberrys en Androids (En EBSCO ondersteun hierdie twee volgens hulle webblad).

    Dalk moet daar gefokus word om dit MEER toeganklik te maak vir MEER mense as om aan die behoeftes van ‘n minderheid te voldoen.

    Hierdie argument kan ook toegepas word op IT se “Inetkey vir iPhone”.

    Dalk is dit net sodat die bestuur van betrokke departemente hulle duur speelgoed kan gebruik… :P
