Increase in theft from motor vehicles

USBD is currently experiencing increased reports of theft from vehicles. The Sonop/Majuba and Eendrag/Irene parking areas were targeted during the past week. The general modus operandi of breaking into these vehicles are the breaking of the left door catch. In some cases battery cables are cut to deactivate the alarm system.
Students are reminded not to leave valuable items on display inside vehicles; this is an open invitation to criminals. Ensure that your vehicle windows are closed properly and the vehicle is locked. Remove the face of the radio/CD player as well.
- Students are further urged to contact the USBD at 021-808 2330/2333 immediately to report any suspicious persons on campus.
ek is in Eendrag en daar was by my bakkie ingebreek in die eerste kwartaal. Op meer as een geleentheid het ek al gesien hoe die sekuriteits wag sit en slaap teen die muurbal gebou.
