Advanced course in mentoring: Coaching – Applications open

The Frederik van Zyl Slabbert Institute for Student Leadership Development hereby invites all students to apply for its accredited Advanced Course in Mentoring: Coaching programme. Topics that will be covered include Defining Mentorship, Goal Setting, Emotional Intelligence and Mentoring Leadership and Coaching Models.
The course consists of seven sessions starting from 25 February 2012. To apply, please submit the following documents via e-mail to fvzs@sun.ac.za (e-mail subject: Adv Mentor Application), by 10 February 2012 at midnight:
- A maximum 1 page CV of relevant information pertaining to the course (please be sure to include your cell number, e-mail address and student number)
- A maximum half-page letter of motivation as to why you would like to participate in the course.
Cost:
The course costs R1000 and shall be deducted from participants’ student accounts upon selection to the course. Alternatively students may pay the course fee in cash at the FVZS Institute’s offices (Student Affairs on the third floor of the Neelsie).

How about such a course for staff?? Why only for students. This is a hugely important skill for managers to help their staff grow and improve their own performance.
