Call for submission of new THRIP applications for 2013/2014

The Technology and Human Resources for Industry Programme (THRIP) is a partnership programme that is funded by the Department of Trade and Industry and managed by the National Research Foundation (NRF). This programme promotes partnerships in pre-commercial research between business and the public-funded research base including universities and research institutions. On a cost-sharing basis with industry, THRIP supports Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) research collaboration focused on addressing the technology needs of the participating firms. THRIP also encourages and supports the development and mobility of research personnel and students among participating organisations. All projects funded by THRIP must include human resource development.
Interested researchers are invited to submit applications to this call, in accordance with the requirements and eligibility criteria as set out in the THRIP guide for funding in 2013. The call for new THRIP applications will be open from 09 July to 15 August 2012. The SU internal deadline is 31 July 2012. The call for new THRIP applications for 2013 closed on 3 September 2012. You can, however, apply next year and use the industry funding that you receive in 2013 in your THRIP budget for 2014. Please send me an email to make an appointment so that we can discuss your application. We expect that the call for 2014 applications will open in May-June 2013.
Please indicate whether we could still submit proposal before the end of October 2012 for next year. We only recently realised that we have an industrial partner! please come back to us.
