Seminar by Prof Jane Kenway and Prof Debbie Epstein: Staying ahead of the game
Dear colleagues / post graduate students
We hereby invite you to the first Faculty of Education seminar for this semester, organised by the Faculty’s seminar organising committee (Proff Cornelissen, Fataar and Reddy).
The Friday seminar space is meant to showcase cutting edge scholarship, whether by local, national or international scholars. Ideally, papers will be circulated prior to presentation. We’d like to encourage participants to have read the paper before the seminar. This would make for enriching and robust, though utterly respectful, dialogue. In fact, the latter is a constitutive feature of the seminar deliberations: i.e. informed, critical and respectful deliberation. This week though we only have a description of the seminar and bio notes of these renowned academics.
Date: Friday, 24 August
Time: 14:00 to 15:30
Topic: Staying ahead of the game; elite schools’ globalising curriculum practices, by Prof Jane Kenway (Monash University, Australia) and Prof Debbie Epstein (Cardiff University, Wales).
Venue: Room 3008, 3rd Floor, Education Faculty Building, Ryneveld Street
RSVP: Ms Celeste Links at: clinks@sun.ac.za
