Daar blyk ’n toenemende behoefte aan en aandrang op addisionele akademiese ondersteuning vir studente, veral eerstejaarstudente, te wees. In die lig hiervan, het dit nodig geraak dat ons krities dink oor die aard van die ondersteuning (insluitend tutoriale) wat ons tans bied, behoort te bied en kan bied, veral met die oog op volhoubaarheid en die beskikbaarheid van senior studente wat hiermee kan help. Op versoek van die NW LOK, het die OLG alle koördineerders van eerstejaarmodules, LOK verteenwoordigers en VGP dosente na ʼn bespreking van hierdie sake op Vrydag 1 Februarie 2013 uitgenooi
On Wednesday 30 January 2013 representatives from the Dean’s Office and the Teaching and Learning Discussion Forum (TLDF) will meet newly appointed lecturers to welcome them to the Faculty. They will get to meet one another, while being introduced to some members of the Dean’s office, amongst which the Dean, Prof Doug Rawlings, Prof Terry Robinson (Vice Dean: Research) and Prof Ingrid Rewitzky (Vice Dean: Teaching). This event will also serve as a brief introduction to some of the activities of the Teaching and Learning Discussion Forum, and the University’s teaching and learning retreat for new lecturers, PREDAC, which is scheduled for July.
