The NRF ORCID statement<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Friday 7 April the National Research Foundation (NRF) distributed an ORCID statement requiring all researchers and students applying for funding and rating to have an ORCID identifier. The NRF membership of ORCID ensures that researchers and their institutions will benefit from access to and integration with the ORCID registry. They are in the process of integrating ORCID into all application and grant management processes and systems. They are also considering integration benefits such as automated processes for uploading research output records into a researcher\u2019s profile and research reports. What is ORCID?<\/strong><\/p>\n

An ORCID iD comprises a 16-digit identification number which uniquely distinguishes one author from another (e.g. http:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-5109-3700<\/a>).\u00a0In doing so it ensures that scientific authors are permanently connected to their online research activities throughout their research careers.<\/p>\n

ORCID and Stellenbosch University <\/strong><\/p>\n

You will know that Stellenbosch University has been a member of the Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID)<\/a> network since 2015 and we would like you to associate (\u201cconnect\u201d) your ORCID and SU network identities to allow for the integration of ORCID iDs across systems in a managed way.<\/p>\n

While it is now compulsory to have an ORCID iD when applying for NRF-funding or \u2013rating, Stellenbosch University would like to request you to create your ORCID record and connect it to the Stellenbosch University integration at the same time. To do so please click on the button below (if you already have an ORCID iD, please sign in<\/u> to your account to connect it with your SU network identity).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die NNS ORCID verklaring<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Nasionale Navorsingstigting (NNS) het op Vrydag 7 April \u2018n verklaring uitgereik oor die vereiste om \u2018n ORCID iD te gebruik in alle befondsings- en graderingsaansoeke. Die NNS se lidmaatskap tot ORCID verseker dat navorsers en hul instellings voordeel sal trek uit toegang en integrasie met die ORCID-netwerk. Hulle is in die proses om alle aansoek- en befondsingsbestuursprosesse en -sisteme te integreer met ORCID. Hulle oorweeg dit ook om met ORCID te integreer om die oplaai van navorsingsuitsette na die navorsersprofiele en navorsingsverslae te vergemaklik. Lees die NNS ORCID verklaring hier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wat is ORCID?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die netwerk bestaan uit 16-syfer identifikasienommers wat skrywers van wetenskaplike navorsingspublikasies op \u2019n unieke manier van mekaar onderskei (bv. http:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-5109-3700<\/a>)<\/a>.\u00a0Sodoende word verseker dat skrywers vir die duur van hul loopbane, en daarna, met hul aanlyn- navorsingsaktiwiteite verbind word.<\/p>\n

ORCID en Universiteit Stellenbosch <\/strong><\/p>\n

Soos jy reeds weet, is Universiteit Stellenbosch vanaf 2015 \u2019n lid van die Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID)<\/a> netwerk.\u00a0Universiteit Stellenbosch\u00a0nooi jou uit om jou ORCID iD met jou universiteitsrekord te skakel ten einde die integrasie van ORCID iDs oor stelsels heen op \u2019n beheerde manier moontlik te maak.<\/p>\n

Terwyl dit nou verpligtend is om \u2018n ORCID iD te h\u00ea wanneer jy aansoek doen vir NNS-befondsing of -evaluerings, wil ons graag vra dat jy jou ORCID iD met die Universiteit Stellenbosch integrasie koppel wanneer jy \u2018n iD skep. Gebruik asseblief die skakel hieronder om dit te doen. Indien jy reeds oor ‘n ORCID iD beskik, teken asseblief hier op jou rekening aan en skakel jou ORCID iD met jou universiteitsrekord. <\/strong><\/p>\n
