Only in our second season now, Vesta’s cricket has steadily established a solid group of players. We currently play in the 8-side weekday league, as we don’t have people to choose from for weekend games, but we hope to acquire enough players in 2012 to be able to take part in this form of the game as well.

Vesta’s hockey has grown in strength from our first season in 2010. In the 2011 season, we narrowly missed out in winning our winter league, losing to Libertas in the final. Vesta has established a solid team over the last two seasons and will be hoping to add more players to our ever growing squad for 2012. For the first time we have entered two summer league teams, in the hope to so that everyone can get a bit of game time, as well as scout players for the senior team in the winter league.

After last weekend’s draw against Concordia the Vesta boys had time to prepare for their next game against Olympus that took place on Saturday the 11th of May. As the guys pitch up at Lentelus stadium for the game a winning atmosphere arose between them. Going on the field the boys started the game well and scored two goals in the first half. Olympus then also scored late in the half, but the Vesta boys was like a pack of attacking dogs and the Olympus goal was their fuel. Unfortunately it was half time. After the break a well-rested Vesta team took the field again and started demolishing Olympus in the second half with the right attitude and necessary discipline. The game then ending with a score of 5-1 for the Vesta boys. Another glorious victory for the Vestonians. In the coming week they will be preparing for their game next weekend and just as hard for the exams that are almost at our doorstep.

Another great weekend of soccer for the Vestonians. On Saturday the 4th of May the boys from Vesta played against Concordia residents. It was a lovely Saturday morning with the sun shining and a perfect day for soccer. The guys where amped for the game and did their best from the kick off. They played an excellent first half and regrouped for the second half. At the start of the second half Neo scored a excellent goal which resulted in a score of 1-0 for Vesta. Concordia picked up their game and also scored later in the second half. One of our guys got a yellow card almost at the end of the second half. As tension built up for the last few minutes of game play Concordia received a penalty kick which they missed. This resulted in the game ending 1-1. We are very proud of our boys for playing extremely well and hard.
