The internationally renowned poet, writer and artist, Breyten Breytenbach, is being remembered by a plethora of people from a cross section of society. While he is viewed as one of the greatest Afrikaans poets and writers, he also played a pivotal role on the international stage. Revered for his work, he was also a leading intellectual who did not shy away from uncomfortable truths and speaking out against injustice everywhere.
