{"id":4429,"date":"2019-04-26T07:45:53","date_gmt":"2019-04-26T07:45:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/antarcticlegacy\/?p=4429"},"modified":"2019-04-26T07:53:07","modified_gmt":"2019-04-26T07:53:07","slug":"sad-news-previous-marion-team-member-passed-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/antarcticlegacy\/2019\/04\/26\/sad-news-previous-marion-team-member-passed-away\/","title":{"rendered":"Sad News: Previous Marion Team member passed away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is with very sad news that we share the passing of Graham Clarke, who was the Meteorologist on three Marion Island Teams in the 80&#8217;s (M39,M40,M41) and also the team leader of M41 for some time of that expedition.<\/p>\n<p>Graham left his Marion Island legacy behind, by contributing 213 photos to the Antarctic Legacy of South Africa Archive (click <a href=\"http:\/\/alp.lib.sun.ac.za\/discover?field=author&amp;query=graham%20clarke&amp;filtertype=author&amp;filter_relational_operator=equals&amp;filter=Clarke%2C+Graham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> to view his collection). This did not hold him back. He has been in the media a number of times, due to his ambition and his inspirational life story.
