\"\"Professor Anna Traveset, based at the Mediterranean Institute of Advanced Studies<\/a> (a joint institute of the Spanish Research Council and the University of the Balearic Islands) in Mallorca, Balearic Islands (Spain), was a Fellow at the C\u00b7I\u00b7B during November 2013.<\/p>\n

Anna is an expert on island ecology, and is especially interested in the ways that different drivers of global change, including biological invasions, influence the interactions between plants and animals. Her current projects involve predicting how invasive species integrate into, and impact on, the mutualistic networks of different archipelagos \u2014 including the Gal\u00e1pagos, the Canary Islands, and the Balearic Islands.<\/p>\n

During her time in Stellenbosch, Anna worked on an invited review paper on \u201cMutualistic Interactions and biological invasions<\/a>\u201d with Dave Richardson for Annual Review of Ecology, Evolution and Systematics<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Anna says that she really enjoyed her stay at the C\u00b7I\u00b7B, where she had the chance to interact with several colleagues on interesting projects. She presented a seminar on recent results from her work in the Gal\u00e1pagos Islands, and established several new collaborations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
