On the 20th of February, four DTTC staff members were invited to participate and present at the City Health Research Day 2025! DTTC research was once again front and centre at the intersection of research and policy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was an opportunity to share current studies and workshop how to take health<\/span> systems strengthening and community based research forward while considering social determinants of health<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Nosivuyile Vanqa presented qualitative data from Khayelitsha on the impact of TB counselling on addressing knowledge gaps and reducing stigma.<\/p>\n

Dr Lario Viljoen gave a presentation on Electronic health information system usage among health workers, as well as the findings from the SCIP KAPS study in Cape Town<\/p>\n

Dr Susan Purchase delivered her qualitative analysis work on the acceptability of an adult levofloxacin regimen in children on MDR-TB preventive treatment.<\/p>\n

Finally, Abenathi Mcinziba spoke on the experiences of children and their caregivers affected by multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in Cape Town.<\/p>\n
