[:en]Welcome to the website of the Forest Measurements and Modelling (FMM) research group at Stellenbosch University<\/a>.\u00a0 We are part of the Department of Forest and Wood Science<\/a>, which falls within the Faculty of Agrisciences<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We work across a range of research topics that pertain to the modelling of growth of trees and forests at multiple scales<\/strong>.\u00a0 A particularly important focus in our group is on models of wood formation<\/strong> in the genus Eucalyptus<\/em>, supported through the\u00a0Hans Merensky Foundation<\/a> (HMF) Research Chair in Advanced Modelling of\u00a0Eucalyptus<\/em>\u00a0Wood Formation\u00a0(EucXylo<\/a>)<\/strong>. We work closely and effectively with a wide network<\/a> of South African and international scientists, and maintain strong ties and collaborations within the forestry industry in South Africa and abroad.<\/p>\n
