The SU Research ICT Team is a group of cross-functional research support specialists whose goal is to enable research at Stellenbosch University through information and communications technology (ICT). The team is working towards a Research ICT Commons: an ecology of widely used research ICT applications, infrastructure, and services, provided on an institutional level to all SU researchers. It is envisaged that the Commons will cater for the needs of the majority of SU researchers, but not for the highly specialised needs of individual researchers. Where possible, the Commons should be available to SU researchers at no charge, as not to inhibit academic work. A fair use policy may apply to ensure equitable access.
