If you intend to collect personal information, we recommend that you use the Information Governance Division’s Privacy Impact Self-Assessment tool to assess the value of and risks involved with the information you plan to collect or process. The result of the assessment will guide you to the appropriate data collection tool. SUNSurvey is a useful tool for smaller projects with low or minimal sensitivity data, whereas REDCap should be used for bigger datasets with medium or high level sensitivity. The institutional instance of MS Forms may be used to collect minimal or low risk data only.

Please note that only the institutional instance of REDCap – is approved by SU IT to store high risk data. SU IT cannot vouch for instances hosted and maintained by specific departments or research groups.
