Iimbovane camp connects learners with Overstrand biodiversity

From 4 to 6 October 2024, Iimbovane hosted an environmental science camp for Grade 10 learners from Umyezo Wama Apile (Grabouw) and Swartberg Secondary School (Caledon) which took place in Kleinmond. The camp was tailored for the Grade 10 Life Sciences curriculum, and aimed at reinforcing concepts such as ecological niches, the role of abiotic factors such as temperature, altitude, soil and moisture, as well as the adaptation of plant species to their respective ecosystems. Celebrating Natalie van der Heuvel as she graduates!

Natalie’s journey began with an undergraduate BSc in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology which she attained from the University of Western Cape in 2019. During her undergrad she also volunteered as a student on her spare time at the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town.
