{"id":2643,"date":"2023-10-18T22:15:39","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T22:15:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/iimbovane\/?p=2643"},"modified":"2023-10-18T20:03:01","modified_gmt":"2023-10-18T20:03:01","slug":"tales-from-the-timid-and-the-untamed-iimbovane-at-eeasa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/iimbovane\/tales-from-the-timid-and-the-untamed-iimbovane-at-eeasa\/","title":{"rendered":"Tales from the timid and the untamed: Iimbovane at EEASA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last month, the Iimbovane project team came to together with educators, researchers, students, practitioners, NGO\u2019s and supporters of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for the 41<sup>st<\/sup> Annual Conference of the <a href=\"https:\/\/eeasa.org.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Environmental Education Association of Southern Africa (EEASA).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Conference, held in Gauteng from 18<sup>th<\/sup> to 22<sup>nd<\/sup> September 2023, and the theme \u2018<em>Education, Advocacy, and Action to Advance ESD in Southern Africa<\/em>\u2019, underscored the important role that education plays in shaping a sustainable and prosperous future for the region.<\/p>\n<p>One of the goals EEASA 2023 was to showcase local\/regional projects and programmes and Iimbovane was invited to present a poster.<\/p>\n<p>The poster titled, \u2018<em>Tales from the timid and untamed\u2019<\/em>, gave a reflection on Iimbovane\u2019s partnership with the education team of the conservation working group \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/capeleopard.org.za\/education\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cape Leopard Trust.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Iimbovane and Cape Leopard Trust has partnered since 2017 and successfully hosted a number of environmental education events, from weekend camps and day programmes for learners to educator development workshops.
