At approximately 12:30 yesterday afternoon various web applications were impacted by a major incident on our systems infrastructure. This caused the following services to be offline: exam results; exam schedules; loading marks; e-thesis; Sun-e-HR; password change; e-Payments and the SU contact centre’s Agent Portal.
We thank you for your patience during this widespread disruption of system availability. All systems and applications were restored to normal operation by 17:00. We are investigating the incident to determine the root cause and will implement any possible remedy to prevent future occurrence.

Om ongeveer 12:30 gistermiddag is verskeie webtoepassings beïnvloed deur ’n ernstige probleem op die stelsel-infrastruktuur. Dit het veroorsaak dat dienste soos eksamenresultate; eksamenskedules; laai van punte; e-tesisse; SUN-e-HR; wagwoordverandering; e-Betalings en die US-kontaksentrum se AgentePortaal, nie beskikbaar was nie.
Dankie vir julle geduld gedurende die uitgebreide onderbreking van stelsels. Alle stelsels en toepassings was teen 17:00 weer funksioneel. Ons ondersoek die insident om te bepaal wat die hoofoorsaak was en sal alle moontlike maatreëls in plek sit om te verhoed dat dit in die toekoms weer gebeur.
