{"id":4735,"date":"2013-10-18T11:03:11","date_gmt":"2013-10-18T09:03:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/it\/?p=4735"},"modified":"2016-01-18T15:25:52","modified_gmt":"2016-01-18T13:25:52","slug":"stp-celebrates-october-with-tech-fest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/it\/2013\/10\/stp-celebrates-october-with-tech-fest\/","title":{"rendered":"<!--:en-->STP celebrates October with tech fest<!--:--><!--:af-->STP vier Oktober met tegnologiefees<!--:-->"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--:en--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/it\/files\/2013\/10\/mymaties.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"380\" align=\"right\" \/>Over the past year a new technology initiative aimed mainly at students, has slowly, but surely spread across campuses nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>STP, or the\u00a0<strong>Student Technology Programme<\/strong>\u2018s objective is to offer affordable tablets and laptops for purchase to all students of public universities across South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>This Wednesday (22 October), staff and students will have the opportunity to have a look at what the programme offers in the Neelsie between\u00a0\u00a09:00 and 16:00<\/p>\n<p>Devices will not only be displayed, you&#8217;ll also be able to play around with them and who knows, maybe even win a brand new toy &#8230; If you&#8217;d like to procure a nifty new piece of technology for yourself, you can also order one on this day.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to win one of these new devices, you can also try your hand at entering the\u00a0<em>October Tech Fest <\/em>competition<em> &#8211;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>1. Go to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun.ac.za\/ithub\">www.sun.ac.za\/ithub<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Click on the link.<\/p>\n<p>3. Complete the 10 competition questions.<\/p>\n<p>4. Send it to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:student@sun.ac.za\">student@sun.ac.za<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Four tablets are up for grabs and you could be one of the lucky winners. Toestelle sal nie net uitgestal word nie, maar jy sal ook daarmee kan speel en wie weet, dalk ook `n splinternuwe speelding wen &#8230; Indien jy belangstel om vir jouself `n nuwe stukkie tegnologie aan te skaf, kan jy dit ook op di\u00e9 dag bestel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As jy een van die nuwe toestelle wil wen, kan jy ook inskryf vir die <em>October Tech Fest<\/em>-kompetisie &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>1.
