The goals of the e-textbook pilot with the Law Faculty and School of Public Leadership (SPL) are:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: Symbol; color: #272727;\">\u00b7<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; color: #272727;\"> Explore the current strengths and weaknesses of the e-reader technology<br \/> <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: Symbol; color: #272727;\">\u00b7<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; color: #272727;\"> To determine the usefulness of this technology in the classroom<br \/> <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: Symbol; color: #272727;\">\u00b7<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; color: #272727;\"> Reduce the high cost of traditional textbooks and increase the attractiveness of e-textbooks<br \/> <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: Symbol; color: #272727;\">\u00b7<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; color: #272727;\"> Evaluate the availability of the e-textbook resource on more than one device<br \/> <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: Symbol; color: #272727;\">\u00b7<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; color: #272727;\"> Increase the usage of the required e-textbooks through institutional purchase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; color: #272727;\">The drivers for the pilot of e-textbooks include the electronic delivery of course material as a possible replacement of traditional printed textbooks, the adoption of e-reader technology as part of the curriculum renewal and meeting the technology expectations of the knowledge economy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; color: #272727;\">Are you involved in any e-book initiatives on campus? Die projek beoog om aan eerstejaarstudente in een of meer van hulle modules e-handboeke as \u0149 opsie te bied. Dit sal ook uitgebrei word na die nagraadse programme by die Openbare- en Ontwikkelingsbestuur by SPL.<\/p>\n<p>Deur middel van die bekendstelling van e-handboeke sal ons die sterk- en swakpunte van e-leser tegnologie\u00eb asook die bruikbaarheid van die tegnologie in die klaskamer kan bepaal.<\/p>\n<p>Studente benodig buigsame meganismes om toegang tot hul akademiese hulpbronne leerstelsels, biblioteekbronne en enige ander inligtingsbronne op en af van kampus te h\u00ea. Die doelwitte vir die e-handboek loodsprojek saam met die Regsfakulteit en Skool vir Openbare Bestuur is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ondersoek die huidige sterk- en swakpunte van e-leser tegnologie.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Om vas te stel wat die bruikbaarheid van hierdie tegnologie in die klaskamer is.<\/li>\n<li>Verminder die hoe koste van tradisionele handboeke en verbeter die estetiese kwaliteit van e-handboeke.<\/li>\n<li>Evalueer die beskikbaarheid van die e-handboek hulpbron op meer as een toestel.<\/li>\n<li>Verhoog die gebruik van die verlangde e-handboeke deur middel van institusionele aankope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Die motivering vir die e-handboek loodsprojek sluit die elektroniese aflewering van kursusmateriaal as \u0149 moontlike vervanging van gedrukte, tradisionele handboeke in, die inbruikneming van e-leser tegnologie as deel van die kurrikulum hernuwing en om die tegnologiese verwagtinge van die kennis-ekonomie te vervul.<\/p>\n<p>Is jy betrokke by enige e-boek inisiatiewe op kampus.
