Prof Sonia Human, Dekaan van die Fakulteit Regsgeleerdheid, Universiteit Stellenbosch nooi u na die jaarlikse Morti Malherbe Gedenklesing aangebied deur Prof Michael Freeman* oor “The Human Rights of Children”.

*Prof Michael Freeman is ‘n befaamde ekspert van die Familiereg en Kinderreg en het ‘n omvangryke lys van publikasies in die areas van Geneeskundige Reg, Etiek en die reg, Regsleer en Regsfilosofie, Kinderreg en Beleid, en Kinder- en Familiereg. Hy is die Stigtersredakteur van die International Journal of Children’s Rights; Redakteur van die International Journal of Law in Context, Algemene Redakteur van die International Library of Medicine, Ethics and Law en van die International Library of Family, Society and Law, asook voormalige Redakteur van The Annual Survey of Family Law. Prof Freeman se navorsingsbelangstellings is in die regte van kinders en in geneeskundige etiek – veral met betrekking tot medies geassisteerde reproduksie en die Etiek van Publieke Gesondheid. Hy is die outeur van meer as 60 boeke en alhoewel hy onlangs afgetree het, is hy tans besig om ‘n nuwe uitgawe van Introduction to Jurisprudence voor te berei.

 *Prof Michael Freeman is a renowned expert of Family Law and Child Law and has published extensively in the areas of Child Law Policy, Children’s Rights, Medicine, Ethics and the Law and Medical Law, Jurisprudence and Legal Theory. He is the Founding Editor of the International Journal of Children’s Rights; Editor of the International Journal of Law in Context, General Editor of International Library of Medicine, Ethics and Law and of the International Library of Family, Society and Law and former Editor of the Annual Survey of Family Law. Prof Freeman’s research interests are in the rights of children and in medical ethics particularly in relation to medically assisted reproduction and the Ethics of Public Health. While he has been the author of more than 60 books and has recently retired, he is currently preparing a new edition of Introduction to Jurisprudence.
