Ms Maziya joined the department of private law as junior lecturer under the nGAP (New Generation of Academics Program) in May 2018 and she is currently lecturing the law of succession (Private Law 273). After completing her studies, she worked as a legal intern in the Department of Science and Technology in the Legal Services Department. Prior to joining the department, she worked as a candidate attorney at Legal Aid Justice Board in Johannesburg. After completing her articles, she wrote and passed all her board exams.

She did her undergrad BA law followed by a postgraduate LLB degree at Rhodes University and she is currently in her final year of LLM (private law) at Stellenbosch University. Her areas of interest include: gender equality, customary law, intestate succession and the rights of stateless children.

Me Maziya het in Mei 2018 by die Privaatreg departement aangesluit as junior lektor onder die nGAP (New Generation of Academics Program) en sy doseer tans erfreg (Privaatreg 273). Na voltooiing van haar studies het sy gewerk as ʼn intern by die Departement van Wetenskap en Tegnologie in die regsdepartement. Voordat sy by ons departement aangesluit het, het sy as kandidaatprokureur by die Raad van Justisie se Regshulp-afdeling in Johannesburg gewerk. Nadat sy haar kandidaatskap voltooi het, het sy haar eksamens voltooi.

Sy het BA Regte studeer, gevolg deur ‘n nagraadse LLB-graad aan die Rhodes Universiteit en is tans in haar finale jaar van die LLM (privaatreg) aan die Universiteit van Stellenbosch. Haar belangstellingsvelde sluit in: gendergelykheid, inheemse reg, intestate erfopvolging en die regte van staatlose kinders.
