In 2017 he was the recipient of Stellenbosch University\u2019s Chancellor\u2019s award for research.<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 30px\"><\/td>\n<td style=\"text-align: justify\" align=\"left\" valign=\"top\">Prof Marius de Waal is &#8216;n Professor in Privaatreg.\u00a0 Sy hoof belangstellingsgebiede is die erfreg en die trustreg en hy doseer hierdie vakgebiede in die Departement Privaatreg.\u00a0 Hy is die mede-outeur van standaard Suid-Afrikaanse handboeke op hierdie gebiede.\u00a0 Prof De Waal het ook reeds ander ander vakgebiede in die veld van privaatreg doseer, soos deliktereg, sakereg en verteenwoordigingsreg.\u00a0 Hy was reeds by drie geleenthede (1994, 2000 en 2008) die ontvanger van die Alexander von Humboldt Stipendium vir navorsing by Duitse akademiese instellings.
