Herewith is more information on PsycINFO which is already available from our A-Z list of databases.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1180\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/libraryresearchnews\/files\/2023\/02\/psycinfo-full-580x290.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/libraryresearchnews\/files\/2023\/02\/psycinfo-full-580x290.jpg 580w, https:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/libraryresearchnews\/files\/2023\/02\/psycinfo-full.jpg 637w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>PsycINFO is an abstracting and indexing database which delivers content across the full spectrum of behavioral and social sciences.<\/p>\n<p>The database gives access to nearly 2 300 journals, 500 000 books records, 600 videos, and 3 million+ DOIs. It has twice-weekly updates, journals in nearly 30 languages, and publications from over 50 countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amongst others, the following topics are covered:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Artificial Intelligence<\/li>\n<li>Business<\/li>\n<li>Education<\/li>\n<li>Law<\/li>\n<li>Linguistics<\/li>\n<li>Medicine<\/li>\n<li>Neuroscience<\/li>\n<li>Pharmacology<\/li>\n<li>Political science<\/li>\n<li>Social work<\/li>\n<li>Sociology<\/li>\n<li>Sports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Library has been subscribed to the full-text database, <strong>PsycARTICLES<\/strong>, for a few years.<\/p>\n<p>What does PsycARTICLES offer?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More than 225,000 full-text, peer-reviewed articles from APA, the Canadian Psychological Association, the Hogrefe Publishing Group, the Global Alliance for Behavioral Health and Social Justice, and others<\/li>\n<li>Twice weekly updates and Online First indexing to ensure rapid access to cutting-edge research<\/li>\n<li>Journal Snapshots, which include data on authors, most-cited articles, and other key journal information<\/li>\n<li>Journal Browse functionality with journal Impact Factors, cover images, years of coverage, and editor information<\/li>\n<li>Coverage dating back to 1894<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PsycINFO and PsycARTICLES complement each other<\/strong> and are searchable from the <a href=\"https:\/\/psycnet-apa-org.ez.sun.ac.za\/\">APA PsycNet platform.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Author: Caretha Nel<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Library managed to add some critical new resources to our list of databases available, such as PsycINFO.
