However, there are dedicated staff ready to assist with the three-step process of completing those final steps before graduation.<\/p>\n<p>Part of last year\u2019s changes include the perpetual availability of Thesis management throughout the year.\u00a0 Therefore, there will be no waiting period as to when a graduate can be nominated on the system.\u00a0 That said, the cut-off date for the final nomination of a student, the submission of a thesis\/dissertation, and the approval of said submission will remain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The cut-off dates for each graduation period are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>March\/April 2025 graduation: <strong>closing date is 4 March 2025<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>December 2025 graduation: <strong>closing date is 27 November 2025<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please follow this process:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The final thesis or dissertation must be submitted in PDF format.<\/li>\n<li>Log onto <a href=\"https:\/\/student.sun.ac.za\/\">SUNStudent Academia<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on Examinations, then click <strong>Thesis Management<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The supervisor\/promoter or administrative staff nominates the candidate.<\/li>\n<li>Please make use of Remarks to indicate the month and year of graduation.<\/li>\n<li>The thesis\/dissertation is uploaded by the supervisor\/promoter or administrative staff.<\/li>\n<li>The supervisor\/promoter or administrative staff approves the submission.<\/li>\n<li>The thesis\/dissertation will be publicly accessible on <a href=\"https:\/\/scholar.sun.ac.za\/home\">SUNScholar <\/a>following graduation, provided that no restrictions apply.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Please note that if you do not have access to SUNStudent access can be provisioned by following these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Please access the SUNStudent Service Desk <a href=\"https:\/\/servicedesk.sun.ac.za\/jira\/plugins\/servlet\/theme\/portal\/29\"><strong>here.<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>The tile marked &#8216;user access management&#8217;\u00a0is the section that allows users to complete their user role access request.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For more information and assistance see <a href=\"https:\/\/library.sun.ac.za\/en-za\/Help\/Pages\/online-thesis-submission.aspx\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please join us on 12 February when we present an online training webinar on Thesis management.\u00a0 Please book via the the Training platform for staff.\u00a0 Herewith is the link to make a booking.<\/p>\n<p><em>Author: <a href=\"plt@sun.ac.za\">Paulette Talliard<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With a new and exciting year ahead, SUNScholar is ready for the submission of theses or dissertations to Thesis management.
