We are delighted to announce the award of the prestigious Professor Bongani Mayosi Netcare Clinical Scholarship to Dr Donald Simon, a pulmonologist in the BMRI Clinical Team at MBHG.<\/div>\n

This scholarship creates opportunities for deserving South African medical practitioners to further their studies and research in their respective fields of specialisation.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The award is named after Prof Bongani Mayosi, a world-class clinician, A-rated scientist, legendary teacher and visionary who imagined an Africa capable of driving its own agenda and using science to improve the health of its nations.<\/div>\n
 <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Prof Mayosi’s fundamental drive was the transformation of society through investment in future generations of scientists, physicians and future leaders. His ultimate belief was that science should be a vehicle for social and political change, and ultimately a vehicle for economic upliftment. Through this award, of which only two awards are made each year, we honour his legacy and vision.<\/div>\n

We congratulate him on this outstanding achievement and wish Dr Simon all the very best with the continuation of his PhD studies at MBHG.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
