Canon Collins Trust promotes postgraduate studies in South Africa by offering scholarships of up to R50 000 per academic year for scholars at Masters and PhD level. Both full and part-time study are supported and applications for those who wish to study by distance learning, will also be considered. Scholarships are tenable in 2013. Closing Date: Friday, 3rd August 2012.


Eligibility criteria:

  • a national of and resident, or have refugee status, in one of the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
  • in possession of a good first degree (minimum 2:1, or upper second) or about to graduate in the year of application
  • registered as a full or part-time Masters or doctoral candidate at a South African higher education institute
  • Applicants will be expected to show their commitment to the development of their country and region
