Nadat jy jou voorgraadse studies in Wiskundige Wetenskappe voltooi het, kan jy \u2018n honneursgraad in \u2018n gepaste rigting, afhangend van jou derdejaarmodules, aanpak. \u2018n HonsBSc is \u2018n een jaar lange graad wat uit \u2018n aantal modules en \u2018n navorsingsprojek in jou gekose rigting bestaan. Hierna kan jy vir \u2018n meestergraad inskryf wat uit \u2018n tesis oor \u2018n goedgekeurde onderwerp bestaan. Om \u2018n PhD in een van die rigtings van Wiskundige Wetenskappe te behaal, moet jy \u2018n proefskrif met die resultate van jou oorspronklike navorsing inhandig.<\/p>\n

Die afdeling Toegepaste Wiskunde by die Universiteit Stellenbosch fokus op navorsing in numeriese analise en wetenskaplike berekeninge; rekenaarvisie en masjienleer; vloeidinamika en -modellering; en toegepaste diskrete wiskunde. Ons missie is om probleme te formuleer en op te los in alle fasette van die samelewing deur gebruik te maak van wiskundige metodes wat ons ontwikkel en op \u2019n innoverende wyse toepas.<\/p>\n

In die afdeling Wiskunde het ons navorsingsgroepe wat fokus op Algebra en Modelteorie, Kategoriese Algebra, Diskrete Wiskunde, Dualiteitsteorie, Funksionaalanalise, Wiskundige en Teoretiese Fisiese Biowetenskappe, Getalleteorie en Meetkunde, en Topologie en Wiskundige Fisika.<\/p>\n
