Die Departement Kurrikulumstudie streef na akademiese uitnemendheid binne die konteks van kurrikulumstudie as wetenskapsterrein. In hierdie departement word studente opgelei in die skoolvakke wat uiteindelik in skole onderrig word. Dit word gedoen aan die hand van die Kurrikulum- en Assesseringsbeleidsverklaring (CAPS).<\/p>\n

Die Departement het 'n multidissiplin\u00eare fokus, wat Filosofie van Onderwys, Sosiologie en Geskiedenis van Onderwys, Onderwysleierskap en -bestuur, en Onderwysbeleid insluit. In ooreenstemming met die Universiteit se verbintenis as 'n navorsingsintensiewe instelling, is ons 'n navorsingsgeleide departement. Die departement se werk en fokus is gevorm in 'n postkoloniaal, demokratiese kultuur van kritiese beraadslaging, wat daarop gefokus is om te reageer op die talle kompleksiteite en vrae wat noodwendig met 'n pluralistiese samelewing gepaard gaan.<\/p>\n

Die navorsingsfokus van die Departement Opvoedkundige Sielkunde is gemik op die opvoedkundige sielkundige ontwikkeling van menslike potensiaal in skole en gemeenskappe. Die uiteindelike doel is om toepaslike inklusiewe skool- en gemeenskapsgebaseerde opvoedkundige sielkundige programme sowel as gespesialiseerde programme te ontwikkel en te implementeer. Dit bied geleenthede vir optimale ontwikkeling en selfaktualisering.<\/p>\n
