You can only do a postgraduate degree when you have already graduated with an <\/span>undergraduate<\/span><\/i> degree. This means you cannot study journalism at Stellenbosch University straight after matric, <\/span>but only after you have successfully completed your undergraduate studies.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can study any undergraduate programme (BA, BCom, BSc, etc.) of at least three years.<\/span><\/p>\n

You need to pass your undergraduate degree. There is a selection test which evaluates your general knowledge and writing skills. If you do well enough in the test, you are invited for an interview.<\/span><\/p>\n

The department only accepts 26 students into the journalism honours degree. This is a very practical programme where students get a lot of individual attention.<\/span><\/p>\n

You could improve your chances of admission to the postgraduate degree by getting involved with campus media organizations during your undergraduate years, staying abreast of the news by reading, listening to, watching and following journalism outlets, and obtaining good grades for your undergraduate courses.
