Partners Enhancing Resilience through African Centres of Excellence (PERI-ACE) is a project under the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme, which promotes cooperation between African Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and supports academic mobility across the continent. The scheme provides support for consortia of African HEIs and scholarship opportunities for African trainees, students at master’s and doctoral levels, and university staff. 

In alignment with Agenda 2063, the scheme’s overarching goal is to enhance human development while strengthening intra-African academic cooperation. Specifically, the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme aims to: 

• Increase student employability; 
• Improve the quality and relevance of African higher education in relation to the continent’s development vision; 
• Strengthen the modernization and internationalization of African HEIs; and 
• Promote the evolution of a unified African higher education and research space.
