Leviticus 10:3
Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke saying: “By Those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy, and before all the people I must be glorified.”
God is many things to many people:
a)He is a friend, (John 15:9-14)
b)He is our support (psalm 18:1)
c) He is a guide, (Psalm 31:3)
d)He is our comfort, (Mathew 11:28-30)
e)He is our refuge. (psalm 9:9)
f)He is our Saviour (Acts 4:12)
g) He is a Parent, (Mathew 7:11)
h) He is a Provider (Mathew 6:11)
God in three persons, is all these things and So much more.
So many roles does He fill in our lives. So much so that for those who truly know and love Him, He is–enough; come what may. No other thing can fill or satisfy. Any other thing vying for first position in our lives is the embodiment of purposelessness and wilful wasting of life and time (Ecclesiaststes 1: 14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping of the wind)
In Leviticus 10:3 we see yet another Role God has:
He is our Holy, Blameless Leader. A King. When we approach His Throne, all honour, reverence and glory are His.
Imagine being granted an audience with the Queen of England, in her Throne Room, with other dignitaries and people of great esteem. How would you behave in their presence? Would there be respect expected of you?
Our God is more than an earthly monarch.
He is the ruler and King of His Created Universe. Whilst any others are simply managers of His Property. You yourself being a manager of His property–a custodian of the earth, a keeper of His temple (your body), a manager of His people (your Brother’s keeper).
God is a Sovereign Holy King. His Word is Law. His Commands are serious and weighty. What an honour that He command us and trust us to carry forward the Gospel Work.
As we prayerfully prepare for the Evangelism, let us remember it is the Will and Command of a King to His Subjects.
