Salvation and the End Time

Memory Text: “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and
sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins” (1 John 4:10, NIV).

The main difference between Christianity and other religions is that; other religions preach self salvation while
Christianity acknowledges that it is through Christ alone that we may be saved.
Christ’s incarnation in human flesh (Rom. 8:3), His death on the cross (Rom. 5:8),
His resurrection (1 Pet. 1:3) and His ministry in heaven (Heb. 7:25) — these acts alone are what saves us.

The Love of the Father

God does not change (Malachi 3:6) and is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). When Phillip said
“Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us” (John 14:8, NKJV); Jesus answered him by saying “Have I
been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how
can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Which shows us that The Father is, and always has been, gracious,
merciful, compassionate, slow to anger (Ps. 145:8), loving and kind; just as Christ was.

Talents

Matthew 25: 14-30

In this story it seems as if the Master shows favouritism, but the Master gave according to each of the servants’ potential. Like the Master in the story God knows our potential He will not give us something that He knows we cannot handle. And when Christ comes back He will require an account of how we used our talents. No matter how little you have you must do what you can with what you got. Here are examples of some talents.      

Talent of speech

This important talent must be cultivated in the right way. Colossians 4:6 Ephesians 4:29 Let your speech always be with grace because it is a gift from God.

Talent of Influence

Throw a pebble into a lake and it forms ripples that reach the shore. There are many people who are influential. Use thus talent wisely 

Just like in the story talents used are talents multiplied. God expects us to use our talents so that he can bless us with more. Every talent that is not used will weaken and decay. How you use your talents reveals your character.

Keep The Unity

Nobody is a whole chain. Each one is a link. But take away one link and the chain is broken. Nobody is a whole team. Each one is a player. But take away one player and the game is forfeited……..you guessed it. We need each other. Isolated islands we are not. To make this thing called life work, we gotta lean and support. And relate and respond. And give and take. And confess and forgive.  And reach out and embrace. And release and rely. Especially in God’s family….where working together is plan A for survival. And since we are so different, love and acceptance are not optional luxuries. Neither is tolerance. Or understanding. Or patience. You know all those things you need from others when your humanity crowds out your divinity. In other words, “be devoted to one another in brotherly love” (Romans 12:10)….
