{"id":736,"date":"2016-11-29T06:00:11","date_gmt":"2016-11-29T04:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/sdasm\/?p=736"},"modified":"2016-11-28T22:08:15","modified_gmt":"2016-11-28T20:08:15","slug":"a-sovereign-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/sdasm\/a-sovereign-god\/","title":{"rendered":"A SOVEREIGN GOD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Leviticus 10:3<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"_rp_d ms-border-color-neutralLight\">\n<div class=\"_rp_A4 ShowReferenceAttachmentsLinks ShowConsesusSchedulingLink\">\n<div class=\"_rp_C4\">\n<div class=\"_rp_D4 ms-font-weight-regular ms-font-color-neutralPrimary rpHighlightAllClass rpHighlightBodyClass\">\n<div class=\"rps_b461\">\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div id=\"x_divtagdefaultwrapper\">\n<p><strong>Then Moses said to Aaron, &#8220;This is what the Lord spoke saying: &#8220;By Those who come near Me<em>\u00a0<\/em>I must be regarded as holy, and before all the people I must be glorified.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>God is many things to many people:<\/p>\n<p>a)He is a friend, (John 15:9-14)<\/p>\n<p>b)He is our support (psalm 18:1)<\/p>\n<p>c)\u00a0He is a guide, (Psalm 31:3)<\/p>\n<p>d)He is our comfort, (Mathew 11:28-30)<\/p>\n<p>e)He is our refuge. (psalm 9:9)<\/p>\n<p>f)He is our Saviour (Acts 4:12)<\/p>\n<p>g)\u00a0He is a Parent, (Mathew 7:11)<\/p>\n<p>h)\u00a0He is a Provider (Mathew 6:11)<\/p>\n<p>God in three persons, is all these things and So much more.<\/p>\n<p>So many roles does He fill in our lives. So much so that for those who truly know and love Him, He is&#8211;enough; come what may. No other thing can fill or satisfy. Any other thing vying for first position in our lives is the embodiment of purposelessness and wilful wasting of life and time\u00a0(Ecclesiaststes 1: 14\u00a0\u00a0 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping of the wind)<\/p>\n<p>In Leviticus 10:3 we see yet another Role God has:<\/p>\n<p>He is our Holy, Blameless Leader. A King. When we approach His Throne, all honour, reverence and glory are His.<\/p>\n<p>Imagine being granted an audience with the Queen of England, in her Throne Room, with other\u00a0dignitaries and people\u00a0of great esteem.\u00a0How would you behave in their presence? Would there be respect expected of you?<\/p>\n<p>Our God is more than an earthly monarch.<\/p>\n<p>He is the ruler and King of His\u00a0Created Universe. Whilst any others are simply managers of His Property. You\u00a0yourself being a manager of\u00a0His property&#8211;a\u00a0custodian of the earth,\u00a0a keeper of His temple (your body),\u00a0a manager of His people (your Brother&#8217;s keeper).<\/p>\n<p>God is a Sovereign Holy\u00a0King. His Word is Law. His Commands are serious and weighty.
