Our approach to quality assurance

Stellenbosch University has a long, well-established and regulated quality assurance culture, practice and policies dating back to 1993.

Stellenbosch University’s quality assurance system is underpinned by national frameworks including:

  • Approved and subsidised by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET);
  • Accredited by the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC) of the Council on Higher Education (CHE), and
  • Registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
