{"id":5303,"date":"2019-05-02T16:16:45","date_gmt":"2019-05-02T14:16:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/summerschoolsblog\/?page_id=5303"},"modified":"2019-05-02T16:16:45","modified_gmt":"2019-05-02T14:16:45","slug":"code-of-conduct","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/summerschoolsblog\/code-of-conduct\/","title":{"rendered":"Code of Conduct"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct<\/h2>\n<h3>Our Pledge<\/h3>\n<p>In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as<br \/>\ncontributors and maintainers pledge to making participation in our project and<br \/>\nour community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body<br \/>\nsize, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression,<br \/>\nlevel of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal<br \/>\nappearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.<\/p>\n<h3>Our Standards<\/h3>\n<p>Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment<br \/>\ninclude:<\/p>\n<p>* Using welcoming and inclusive language<br \/>\n* Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences<br \/>\n* Gracefully accepting constructive criticism<br \/>\n* Focusing on what is best for the community<br \/>\n* Showing empathy towards other community members<\/p>\n<p>Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include:<\/p>\n<p>* The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or<br \/>\nadvances<br \/>\n* Trolling, insulting\/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks<br \/>\n* Public or private harassment<br \/>\n* Publishing others\u2019 private information, such as a physical or electronic<br \/>\naddress, without explicit permission<br \/>\n* Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a<br \/>\nprofessional setting<\/p>\n<h3>\nOur Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<p>Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable<br \/>\nbehavior and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in<br \/>\nresponse to any instances of unacceptable behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Project maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or<br \/>\nreject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions<br \/>\nthat are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or<br \/>\npermanently any contributor for other behaviors that they deem inappropriate,<br \/>\nthreatening, offensive, or harmful.<\/p>\n<h3>Scope<\/h3>\n<p>This Code of Conduct applies within all project spaces, and it also applies when<br \/>\nan individual is representing the project or its community in public spaces.<br \/>\nExamples of representing a project or community include using an official<br \/>\nproject e-mail address, posting via an official social media account, or acting<br \/>\nas an appointed representative at an online or offline event. Representation of<br \/>\na project may be further defined and clarified by project maintainers.<\/p>\n<h3>Enforcement<\/h3>\n<p>Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be<br \/>\nreported by contacting the project team at <a href=\"mailto:exchange@sun.ac.za\">exchange@sun.ac.za<\/a>. All<br \/>\ncomplaints will be reviewed and investigated and will result in a response that<br \/>\nis deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances.
