{"id":485,"date":"2021-10-20T09:43:07","date_gmt":"2021-10-20T07:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/sunscholar\/?p=485"},"modified":"2021-10-20T11:55:39","modified_gmt":"2021-10-20T09:55:39","slug":"international-open-access-week-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sun.ac.za\/sunscholar\/2021\/10\/20\/international-open-access-week-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"International Open Access Week 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>It Matters How We Open Knowledge: Building Structural Equity<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The theme proposed this year is based on the draft <a href=\"https:\/\/en.unesco.org\/science-sustainable-future\/open-science\/recommendation\">UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science<\/a>.\u00a0 It embraces Open Science and the importance of equity of knowledge and the fair participation for all producers and consumers of knowledge.\u00a0 This intended model is based on <em>open by default<\/em> for future scholarship. This includes the diversity of knowledge, practices, workflows, languages, research outputs, research topics, diverse research communities, scholars, the wider public and knowledge holders, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, and social actors from different countries and regions.<\/p>\n<p>Join us for some interesting topics on the 26th of October 2021.
