Celebrating Prof. Clive Gray’s New Role as FAIS President

The Division of Immunology is thrilled to announce that Prof. Clive Gray, head of the Reproductive Immunology Research Consortium in Africa (RIRCA), has been appointed as the President of the Federation of African Immunological Societies (FAIS).

Reflecting on this incredible milestone, Prof. Gray shared: “I had the great honour last week of becoming the President of FAIS at our first in-person meeting since 2017.” The meeting, held in Cotonou, Benin, was a true “festival of immunology showcasing the strength of immunologists in Africa.”

Prof. Gray emphasized his vision for the next two years: “It will be such a pleasure to lead the charge over the next 2 years and further strengthen One Health, veterinary immunity, the immunology of NCD and CD’s, and focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

In his new role, Prof. Gray will oversee FAIS’s efforts to unite and empower immunologists across Africa, foster collaboration, and elevate African immunology on the global stage.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Gray on this well-deserved appointment and look forward to supporting his leadership in advancing immunological research and innovation across the continent.
