[:en]Welcome to the website of the Forest Measurements and Modelling (FMM) research group at Stellenbosch University. We are part of the Department of Forest and Wood Science, which falls within the Faculty of Agrisciences.
We work across a range of research topics that pertain to the modelling of growth of trees and forests at multiple scales. A particularly important focus in our group is on models of wood formation in the genus Eucalyptus, supported through the Hans Merensky Foundation (HMF) Research Chair in Advanced Modelling of Eucalyptus Wood Formation (EucXylo). We work closely and effectively with a wide network of South African and international scientists, and maintain strong ties and collaborations within the forestry industry in South Africa and abroad.
On this site, you will find information about our core team, our research projects, current students and their work, our collaborations and links, and general information about our research priorities and foci. Keep an eye out for new scholarships on offer here. We also try to keep up to date with posts on interesting topics or the latest news.
[:de]This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:
Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)
…or something like this:
The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.
